Hearts for Heritage recently held its first fundraiser event at Julia R. Masterman — a bake sale, which the team worked tirelessly on to prepare for and create. From printing out posters to be plastered in the hallways, to lugging tables and chairs up to fourth flour, to making early-morning pit-stops to GIANT – frantically scouring the baked goods section, 5 minutes away from being late to school. We owe a major thanks to all the members who missed class to man the bake sale, Olivia and Olivia who stayed up the night before making rice crispies and strawberry sandos (despite Olivia K. having Science Olympiad States the following day), and Olivia’s grandma, who made the kimbap that sold out within the first 15 minutes. Last but not least, a massive thanks to all the people purchased something and supported the cause! Thanks to everyone who supported the bake sale, we were able to fundraise enough money to fund our first workshop, which will be held May, 2nd to kick-start API Heritage Month! Though our team was tired and slothful by the end of it, we were grateful that there were many supporters who took the opportunity give back to the API senior community prior to such an important month. We are proud to say that our bake sale was indeed a success. Cheers to many more!
